My first trip to Houston was passing through in the 1950's with my parents, but my real first trip was in the summer of 1963. I was working for Colony House (company based in Dallas, but I was out of San Antonio). The company gave us a trip to Houston and we stayed at the Shamrock. Fantastic hotel! We then worked various parts of Houston.
